Case 1

52 y-o patient who underwent a transplantation of the right lung 1 year earlier. No particular clinical symptom.

Radiological findings


Frontal chest radiograph. Opacity of the left lung with ipsilateral mediastinal shift and elevation of the left hemidiaphragm. The left lung remains partly aerated and a bronchogram is visible.

CT findings


Coronal CT reformation. Left lung of small volume and honeycombing.
Coronal CT thick reformation. Right lung of normal appearance but hyperaerated.

Final diagnosis

Adhesive atelectasis of the left lung due to idiopathic lung fibrosis in a right lung transplanted patient.
